Founded in 1902, ARTnews is the oldest and most widely read fine arts magazine in the world. Published 11 times a year, it is the most recognized and influential publication in its field, and is read by an international audience of collectors, dealers, museum professionals, artists, teachers, historians, connoisseurs, and enthusiasts in 120 countries.
ARTnews covers all art, from ancient to cutting edge. With news dispatches from a worldwide network of correspondents, hard-hitting investigative reporting, reviews of gallery and museum exhibitions, and profiles of artists and collectors, ARTnews offers lively and extensive coverage of the people, places, events and institutions shaping the international culture scene.
ARTnews has won 31 major awards for excellence in investigative reporting, analysis, criticism, and design in the last three decades, including the Silurians Award, the George Polk Award, the Clarion Award, the National Magazine Award[1] for General Excellence, the National Headliner Award[2], and the National Arts Club Distinguished Citation for Merit. ARTnews is consistently quoted and mentioned in the media—on television and radio, in magazines, newspapers, and online.
ARTnews is based in New York. Its critics and correspondents—located in 30 cities around the world—include Arthur Danto, Linda Yablonsky, Barbara Pollock, Hilarie Sheets, Robert Storr, and Glenn D. Lowry.
