Bugti, is a Baloch tribe located in Balochistan. They are divided clans which are known as Rahija, Kalpar,Nauthani, Masuri , Ferozani, Salamaan Zai, Mandhrani, Qasimani, Shambani,Sobazai,Pah'i and Moharkanzai etc they number about 200,000.The area of Dera Bugti is a hill range in Pakistan, comprising the tribal tract known as Bugti country. A westward continuation of the Sulaimān Range, pointing toward the Quetta node, it is a barren area inhabited by the nomadic Bugtis, a Baluchi tribe. The discovery of natural gas deposits at Sūi has brought new economic life to the area. Several valleys and plateaus in the range are being brought gradually under cultivation. BUGTI, a Baluch tribe, is a clan of Rind tribe, numbering about 15,500, who occupy the hills to the east of the Sind-Peshin railway, between Jacobabad and Sibi, with the Marris (a cognate tribe) to the north of them. Like the Marris, the Bugtis are physically a magnificent race of people, fine horsemen, good swordsmen and hereditary robbers. An expedition against them was organized by Sir C. Napier in 1845, but they were never brought under control till Sir Robert Sandeman ruled Baluchistan. Since the construction of the railway, which completely outflanks their country, they have been fairly orderly.

[edit] Origin

Bugti's are basically from Aleppo, Syria. They migrated to Dera Bugti,Balochistan some years after the death of the fourth Muslim Caliph Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Talib R.A after 661 A.D. The cause of their migration was that they had Controversies which ended up in Big fights in Syria with other Arab Clans of Aleppo. When they migrated they settled in a place called Dera Bugti in Balochistan this is the reason why they are called Bugti. Dera Bugti had many Hindu's living their because Balochistan at that time was a part of the Sub-Continent,India, those Hindu's still live in Dera Bugti. Some Histortians say that the ancester of Bugti's was Hazrat Ameer Hamza the uncle of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) known as one of the most bravest Muslims who sacrificed his life for the cause of Islam also titled as Shaheed Ul Momineen. This is the reason such Brave people like Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti were born among Bugti people.
