Burnbank is a district of Hamilton that sits on the border of Blantyre.

Jock Stein - legendary football manager Jock Stein who most famously managed the Lisbon Lions was born in Burnbank

Jim Bett - Former Scotland international footballer who also played for Rangers and Aberdeen.

Willie Savage - footballing long time servant of Queen of the South F.C. in the club's days in Scotland's top division[1]

Walter McGowan - 1960s World Flyweight Boxing Chamion, was also born in Burnbank, and used the old Udston Hospital as a training base.
