Costas Kaiafas (born September 22, 1974 in Nicosia) is a Cypriot midfielder who played for AC Omonia. He was the captain of AC Omonia and the second longest servant in the history of the club. He was ontly 5 appearances shy of becoming Omonoia's all-time record man. Costas started from AC Omonia academies. He was playing at first a right midfielder but then was transferred to center as a defensive midfielder although he was the "brain" of the team. His strong right foot, his game vision and his passion for AC Omonia are his main advantages. This passion is responsible for easily losing his temper and being yellowed by the referees.[citation needed] He is a true inspiration for every AC Omonia player.[citation needed] He is a great asset for AC Omonia both in pitch and out.[citation needed] He scored many crucial goals with the last one to be against AEL FC 23/11/2008 at 1st half extra time which gave AC Omonia the 3 points.
Costas is the son of the Sotiris Kaiafas, the winner of 1975/76 European Golden Boot.
