Hämeenkyrö (Swedish: Tavastkyro) is a municipality of Finland.

It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Pirkanmaa region. The municipality has a population of 10,340 (31 March 2009)[2] and covers an area of 505.13 square kilometres (195.03 sq mi) of which 41.44 km2 (16.00 sq mi) is water.[1] The population density is 22.3 inhabitants per square kilometre (58 /sq mi).

The municipality is unilingually Finnish.

Frans Eemil Sillanpää, a famous Finnish writer, was born in Hämeenkyrö.
