Levante, Spain

Levante, also referred to as El Levante (Spanish), is a name used to refer to the eastern Mediterranean coastal region of the Iberian Peninsula. It includes the Valencian Community, Murcia, Catalonia, Almería, the eastern part of Castile-La Mancha (Albacete and Cuenca) and the southern part of Aragon. It roughly corresponds to the NUTS ES5 area.
More modernly, references in Spain to Levante usually tend to include only Valencian Comunity and Murcia.
