For the comic book, see X-Men: Messiah Complex.
A messiah complex is a state of mind in which the individual believes he/she is, or is destined to become, a savior. This believe can be false, but doesn't have to be. For no one really knows if what he or she believes is the truth. The messiah complex does not appear in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM)[1]
