Nityanand Swami (Devnagari: नित्यान्द स्वामी) was a saint of the Swaminarayan Sampraday and a Swaminarayan paramhansa.[1]

Nityanand Swami was born as Dinmani Sharma in Dantia, a town near Lucknow in 1754. He was born into a Brahmin family, his father was Vishnu Sharma and mother Virjadevi and had a brother named Govind Sharma. He obtained diksha in Meghpur (Saurastra). Nityanand Swami was a very strong debater and had profound knowledge of various scriptures. He died in 1850 in Vadtal. [2]
Nityanand Swami was the writer of several imporatant works such as the Hari Digvijay and the Shri Hanuman Kavach. He produced the first Gujarati translation of the Shikshapatri that was approved by Swaminarayan in 1826.[3] He was a co-author of the Vachanamrut. [4]

Nityanand Swami under the order of Swaminarayan composed Hari Digvijay. This scripture describes and tries to prove that Lord Swaminarayan was ãlmighty god supreme, through numerous discussions and debates. This scripture consists of 49 chapters. [2]
