Pechenizhyn (Ukrainian: Печеніжин, Polish: Peczeniżyn, Yiddish: פעטשיניזשן) — is a town in the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast (province) of Ukraine, seven miles west of Kolomyya.

Geographic Coordinates 48.52°N 24.88°E

Population in 2001 Census: 5,324

Until World War I Pechenizhyn was in Kolomyja District, Galicia (in the Austrian Empire). Between the two World Wars it was in Stanislawow Province, Poland. In 1890 the Jewish population of the town was 2024.[1]

Birthplace of Oleksa Dovbush, the "Ukrainian Robin Hood" in the 18th century, Shtetl in the Kolomyia raion (administrative district) in 19th and 20th centuries.
