Sanzhi (traditional Chinese: 三芝鄉; pinyin: Sānzhī Xiāng; Wade-Giles: San1-chih1-hsiang1), also spelled Sanchih, is a rural township in the northern part of Taipei County in northern Taiwan (ROC). It is the hometown of the former president Lee Teng-hui(李登輝), musician Jiang Wen-ye (江文也, pinyin Jiang Wenye), and the first Taiwanese PhD. Du Cong-ming (杜聰明, pinyin Du Congming).
In 2009 the entire county is due to become a city in its own right: a special municipality called New Taipei. [1].
