[edit] Remove below: unfounded speculation and factual errors

Based on the findings like Pengtoushan culture, there is a belief that the Chinese civilization originated in the warmer Yangtze River regions and, as climate became colder during Ice Age, then migrated to colder Yellow River regions where dry grains could grow better and survive the colder weather. The Hemudu culture is already a highly developed farming civilation with clear social structure. An earlier Chinese civilization is believed to have existed before Hemudu culture.

Removed the above - no sources, and the info about the Ice Age is completely wrong. Archaeological evidence shows that the Neolithic in East Asia was likely much warmer and hotter than it is today.--Confuzion 23:29, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, wouldn't make any sense to migrate away from the warm region if the environment was getting colder, anyway. Still, I added some paleoclimatology to clear up the issue. Anyone who wants to know what it was like during this period just needs to check out the Holocene Climatic Optimum. Elijahmeeks 05:53, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
