University of Rovira i Virgili (Catalan: Universitat Rovira i Virgili) is located in the city of Tarragona, Catalonia. Its name is in honour to Antoni Rovira i Virgili.
This university has also other centres in Reus, Vila-seca, Tortosa and El Vendrell.
It is a member of the Joan Lluís Vives Institute.

In 1991 the Parliament of Catalonia created the Rovira i Virgili University, from the existing universities in Reus and Tarragona, assigned to the University of Barcelona. This recovered the University of Tarragona taht existed in the sixteenth century. Since then the University has increased the studies offered by the creation of new campuses, as the Sant Pere Sescelades in Tarragona.
