[edit] Late Cornish Texts
Re your comment. It is also not "your" page to decide with as you like. Before you delete material it would be nice to leave at least a message. The two late Cornish texts are short enough as not to burden the article and are relevant to the argument. Certainly Bodinar's letter in which he also speaks of the state of the language in 1776 is perfectly relevant to the article and the position in which it was placed. - I did leave a message, in the edit summary. I'm not claiming it as my page, I am merely following the years-old guidelines of what is suitable for inclusion in a Wikipedia article. Please read WP:NOT, specifically the item that states Wikipedia is not a "mere collection of public domain or other source material". The texts you are including on the Cornish language page should be on Wikisource, you can look at the Kernewek category to see the texts already there. Please see my latest edit. The reason for including the Bodinar text is to give an example of late Cornish but also because he describes the situation of the Cornish language in its death throws if you like. I have removed the Cranken Rhyme to its own title. Sorry if I sounded snappy before, but got fed up with vandalism on another page, another issue, nothing to with you and I realise I may have come over a bit "acidic". Anyway, as far as the Bodinar text is concerend, I think we can include that there as it is pertinent to the argument from both a linguistic and socio-linguistic point of view. I was also preparing stuff to build around the Bodinar text from a diachronic linguistics point of view. Look, I do appreciate that the Cornish language page cannot include entire sections of everything ever written in Cornish, but I am sure you can see where I am coming from with this particular text. Dha weles ow sos vy! Brythonek (talk) 19:13, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
- That's fine, I was just thinking about the long term, as I am hoping to bring the article up to featured status soon and I'm not sure the texts' inclusion would pass the criteria. Regards, --Joowwww (talk) 09:52, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Just wondered...
Hello there, just wondered if you'd be so kind as to take a look at User:Jza84/Sandbox5 where I'm preparing a revamped (and draft) version of the Cornish people lead. I would be keen on getting your input. The present lead of Cornish people has bugged me for some time now. --Jza84 | Talk 10:13, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
